Department Overview
The Department of Social Sciences of St. Teresa’s College of Education is one of the academic departments with three distinct units. The department’s mandate is to fundamentally promote the teaching and learning of Music and Dance (Performing Arts), Religious and Moral Education, and Social Studies Education. The department aims at becoming a leading hub for nurturing innovative and socially responsible educators who will excel in promoting cultural understanding and societal progress across borders. It is the department’s mission to empower female educators with comprehensive knowledge and skills in the social sciences, fostering critical thinking, cultural awareness, and social responsibility through innovative teaching, research, and community engagement. We further aim at developing educators who are capable of inspiring and contributing positively to society, in line with the overall vision and core values of the college: Competence, Excellence, Integrity, and Service.
